About the place
Perge was one of the great cities of ancient Pamphylia and flourished in Roman times. Today you can walk its colonnaded main street, past towers, baths and the agora, all perfect backdrops for dramatic, timeless photos.
The open space and long lines of columns give a cinematic depth you can’t find in the city centre, and there are far fewer people around.
Tips for your shoot
- There’s little shade, so early morning or late afternoon is best, and bring water.
- Perge is an archaeological site with an entrance ticket, paid on arrival.
- White, linen and light outfits look beautiful against the pale stone; comfortable shoes are a must.
